The Eukanuba Dog Show - brief history
of this exciting event
The Eukanuba Dog Show is an annual
national championship that is growing in stature among dog breeders and
enthusiasts every year. In fact, it has become a truly international
event in the last couple of years, with dogs competing from all over the
globe. Not surprisingly, it also offers the largest cash prizes in the
dog showing sport.
Here is a brief history of the
Eukanuba Dog Show, which got its start in 2001.
2001
The inaugural Eukanuba Dog Show was held in Orlando, FL on Dec.
12, 2001. "Best In Show" went to a 4-year old Bichon Frise named 'JR.'
2002
The 2nd Annual Eukanuba Dog Show also took place in
Orlando, FL on Dec. 11, 2002. "Best In Show" went to a 6-year old Kerry
Blue Terrier named 'Mick.'
2003
The 3rd Annual Eukanuba Dog Show was held in Long
Beach, CA on Dec. 3, 2003. "Best In Show" went to a 5-year old Norfolk
Terrier named 'Coco.'
2004
There will be no Eukanuba Dog Show Championships in 2004,
because the event coordinators have moved the date to January 15-16,
2005 (Tampa, FL). Reflecting the show's increasing popularity and
prestige in the dog world, it will be a two-day event instead of one.
2005
The fourth Annual Eukanuba Dog Show was held in Tampa, Florida
on Jan. 15-16. "Best In Show" went to a Bloodhound named 'Knotty.'
