Sometimes coming up with unique girl dog names can be difficult.  And just like with people, you don't want to saddle your new puppy with a lousy name for life.  So here are a few suggestions for girl dog names that match up well with certain puppy personalities.

'Amelia'

Amelia is one of those girl dog names perfect for a little tomboy puppy.  If she likes to take flying leaps (think Amelia Earhart) from the couch or bed, and will take on the biggest adult dogs around, this is a great name.

'Aretha'

Girl dog names like this one (think Aretha Franklin) work well for a puppy who is very vocal.  Certain small dogs (Chihuahuas, Jack Russell Terriers, Yorkies) sometimes like to sing with the radio or TV.

'Dixie'

Dixie is one of those girl dog names that fits a Southern belle perfectly.  If you live in the Deep South and have a puppy who thinks she's a princess, this is the name for her!

'Edith'
